Vitis in Vulture

Vitis in Vulture is strongly focused on quality viticulture and the processing of its own grapes. The volcanic soil of Vulture and the special and unique positions of the vineyards permit the production of very high quality grapes, which are selected and vinified with great care. With about 90 hectares of directly managed vineyards and numerous grape suppliers, it represents one of the main quality players in Vulture. The winery in contrada Finocchiaro in Lavello is an important architectural work, recognised in the entire region and represents the pulsating heart of the company. The wines have great personality and stand as champions of Vulture in the world.

Terra Fageto

The Terra Fageto Farm is based on the hard work of four generations. It has a deep respect for the land which it cultivates according to the latest methods of organic viticulture. No artificial fertilizers, just natural treatments. Terra Fageto has handed down an authentic philosophy of life and a vision open to innovation. Forty hectares are planted with vines and are home to two types of vines. The white grape vines consisting of Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano, Chardonnay. The red grape vines: Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Domaine Saint Laurent

Their priority is the expression and character of their wines. It starts with respect for grapevines and the soil, by working the soil for more than 40 years without chemical weed killer. They practice sustainable viticulture, by using natural fertilizers and encouraging the growth of hedgerows and groves near grapevines in order to nurture biodiversity, enhance the landscapes and soil life, and prevent gullying and erosion.

They develop their estate with care and maintain a well-thought-out distribution between the complexity and delicacy of old grapevines – some of which are 80 years of age – and crispiness of our young ones. Harvesting is done manually exclusively for our Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vacqueyras and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages wines.

Vignamato

Generation after generation, our vineyards, with their breath-taking views over the rolling Castelli di Jesi hills, have been a constant testament to our family’s hard work and sacrifice, come rain or shine, through great and less great vintages, because the life of a great wine starts right there on the vine, shoot by shoot, grape by grape. This is the ethos that I inherited from my parents and my grandparents before them — that to be a wine grower is “a way of life and not a job.” It encapsulates the wine grower’s world, a life spent creating a wine, shaping it with knowledge and passion, giving it something of yourself, imbibing it with hope and expectation. The road to the bottle is a long one. The choice of terroir, the type of vine, watching it grow, honouring it and carefully tending it, harvesting its fruits, falling in love with the wine-growing world, building an indestructible bond with the land, trying to create something special, something of your own.

Poggio Alla Sala
